To make our simple, effective Face Shield widely available to healthcare and frontline workers

Within one day of the first UK lockdown, the Bloc Blinds team had developed a prototype Face Shield capable of being manufactured using existing engineering infrastructure on site. A direct approach was made to the Chief Executive of HSCNI to establish if such a product would be of immediate interest and use. With no such resource available within the wider organisation, and no viable means of securing same, our offer of immediate and ongoing help was firmly grasped.

We literally created an indigenous industry overnight in order to fulfil the supply of Face Shields to HSCNI, with 30 million supplied in Northern Ireland alone and a total of 65 million across the UK as a whole.
