In June 2020, at the height of the UK’s Covid-19 pandemic, our R&D team was charged with an internal project to develop a completely new Face Shield. Key requirements were that it should be offered a lower price point; have expanded shelf life; offer re-usability and be fully compliant with all regulations.

The development of the new Face Shield was primarily influenced by frontline workers. In order to secure their input, inobloc representatives numerous interviewed staff (from doctors to janitors) at over 50 hospitals throughout Ireland.

Highly detailed stakeholder feedback was secured from every tier in the healthcare sector and these vital design parameters were fed back into the R&D stages. This information played a crucial in the final successful design.
